Zilla Praja Parishads have been functioning in the state from 01.11.1959. The General Body of Zilla Praja Parishad, Ananthapuramu constituted with 63 ZPTC Members including Chairman and Vice Chairman, Two Co-option Members headed by the Chairperson. The MPs, MLAs, MLCs are also Members in Z.P.P.General Body. Presidents of all Mandal Praja Parishads in the District and GDCCB Chairman, Markfed Chairmans are the invities. The It will meet once in every 3 months and review the Developmental Activities and implementation of Government Schemes with the District Officials. There are 7 Standing Committees constituted with ZPTC members, MLAs, MLCs and District Officers concerned for discussing and take necessary implementations of the proposals to the General Body.
Zilla Praja Parishad Functions:-
Statutory Meetings ie., Zilla Praja Parishad General Body meetings per every 03 months and Standing Committee meetings per every 02 months are being conducted within the stipulated time. Trainings for the Panchayat Raj elected body representatives are being conducted. Maintenance of Z.P. Provident Fund accounts of the staff and P.R.Teachers nearly 7000 accounts. Supervising the service matters of the staff ie., from Mandal Parishad Development Officers to Last Grade Service employees under the control of Zilla Praja Parishad Management.
In A-Section(Establishment) section service matters ie., appointments, promotions, transfers, court cases, pay fixations, disciplinary cases of the staff working in ZPP Office and Mandal Praja Parishads.
IN B section Secondary education School buildings, permissions to functions, Contribution of Lands, Bifercation - Regnetion, permission to higher classes, shopping complexes in the schools premises, Incentive awards for inter caste marriages, court cases, Fisheries, Contingent part time sweepers
In D–section(Accounts) section preparation of Annual Accounts, Budget Estimates, Number Statements, preparation of pay bills of staff of Z.P.P., Ananthapuramu, distribution of grants sanctioned/released by the Central/State Government.
In G-section(Planning) section services matters of MPDOs working in erstwhile Ananthapuramu District, developmental works under 15th Finance Commission and ZP General Fund, GSWS matters, Spandana, PMAGY, RTI Act-2005 and correspondence of subjects pertaining to DPRC, Ananthapuramu etc.
In K-section submission of medical reimbursement bills received from the staff of Zilla Praja Parishad, Mandal Praja Parishads, non-teaching staff working in ZPPHigh Schools and allied institutions to the concerned authorities for sanction, RURBAN, payment of pension to the Non-provincialised staff of ZPP/MPPs/GPs.
In L-section conduct of elections, conduct of General Body Meetings and Standing Committee Meetings.
In PF-Section(C,F,H & I ) P.F.Accounts of staff working in Zilla Praja Parishad, Mandal Praja Parishads and P.R.Teachers, sanction of Final payments, Part-final payments and temporary loans and distribution of P.F.Slips.
